To remove the cover, follow these steps:

1. Turn your Kindle over so that the back cover is facing you,

as shown in the illustration.

2. Turn the power off.

3. Slide the back cover off by pressing the cover firmly with your thumbs,

and pushing it away from you as shown in the previous illustration.

4. The illustration below shows you where the internal features are

located once you have the cover off.
